Inculturation
The miracle at the wedding in Cana (today's Gospel in the Extraordinary Form) strikes me as a model of inculturation.

Charlie McCarthy
Was state Education Department veteran done in by a bottle of olive oil? After reading this article about my Mass-going friend, I made his guest book permanent.

Multiplication of the loaves and fish
As an anticipation of Mass, it was a miracle by Christ, not a sharing by the people. For as the priest does today, Christ said the blessing and broke the bread.

Rejecting the Pope?
Certainly one can reject two footnotes in Amoris laetitia and a sentence in the Abu Dhabi statement without being convicted of rejecting the pope.

The New Jerusalem
A great wall was raised high all around it, with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, … There is no entrance but for those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. Apocalypse 21:12,27 (Knox translation).
"This is the test"
This is the test which saints endured, keeping true to God's commandments, and the faith of Jesus. Apocalypse 14:12 (Knox translation).
Goys in Arms
'“It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?” he said to applause.' "Why didn’t they bomb (the railway lines)?” —Pope says weapons manufacturers can't call themselves Christian

Temple Sacrifices after Christ
That allegory still holds good at the present day. Hebrews 9:9 (Knox translation). I.e., until a.d. 70. For 40 years, as far as most Jews could tell, nothing changed.
Money to a homeless person, 2019 and 2020
On New Year's Eve in church, a person who said he was homeless asked me for a dollar or two. I gave him $60. This morning on the street he, not recognizing me, again asked for help. I said no. Lead us not into temptation.
Those who would be rich fall into temptation, the devil's trap for them. 1 Timothy 6:9 (Knox translation). Most of us would be rich, so by "lead us not into temptation" we ask Our Father to do for us what, in this matter at least, we would probably not do for ourselves.
"Test all things"
Do not stifle the utterances of the Spirit, do not hold prophecy in low esteem; and yet you must scrutinize it all carefully, retaining only what is good, and rejecting all that has a look of evil about it. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 (Knox translation).
A Chosen People
Brethren, God loves you, and we are sure that he has made choice of you. 1 Thessalonians 1:4 (Knox translation).
The whole plenitude of Deity
In Christ the whole plenitude of Deity is embodied, and dwells in him, and it is in him that you find your completion. Colossians 2:9-10 (Knox translation). So with Christ and His Church: why, then, honor other gods, other religions?
What matters is that Christ is proclaimed
What matter, so long as either way, for private ends or in all honesty, Christ is proclaimed? Philippians 1:18 (Knox translation).
